Our mission is to be the highest quality, most customer service oriented manufacturer of drywall joint compounds and textures in the industry, providing a safe, stable and positive environment for our employees, while maintaining the highest possible standards as a corporate citizen.
Company History
Solid Products, Inc. was founded on January 1, 1977 by Myles Frings in Germantown, WI. SPI has been a manufacturer of drywall compounds and textures since its inception. SPI manufactures a complete range of drywall finishing products exclusively for the drywall finishing professional.
In March of 1983, a new facility was built and the headquarters were moved to our current location in Richfield, WI. Additionally, a dry blending facility was opened in Edgerton, Kansas.
Solid Products manufactures under its own brand name Sudden Bond and for a number of other companies as a toll manufacturer. SPI’s products are sold regionally in the United States in a market that reaches from Canton, OH in the East to Louisville, KY in the South, Rapid City, SD in the West to the twin cities of Minnesota to the North. Additionally, SPI sells setting compounds outside the previously described market mainly in Florida. SPI also exports currently to Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
As previously mentioned, Solid Products market focus is towards the drywall finishing professional. Therefore we distribute through and support the professional drywall distribution outlets wherever possible and avoid the “Big Box” stores.
Solid Products enjoys a highly respected position in the industry known for superior quality, customer service, and technical leadership. We have been a member of the Association of Walls and Ceilings International and are a member of the Drywall Finishing Council, as well as a participating vendor in the Drake Group.
In 1989, Solid Products was purchased by Greg Frings who is the current President and CEO.
