Solid Products Inc.’s Venezuelan manufacturing partner Industrias SPI Venezuela enjoyed significant growth during its second full year of manufacturing. “In spite of the difficult political and economic environment here our year over year growth in sales of over 30% was no less than incredible” said Industrias plant manager Luis Sanabria.  “In two short years we have become the industry standard in finishing compound.  Even with the unknown future economic conditions here the beginning of exportation should allow us to continue our growth.”

Although the production at the plant remains full out Industrias SPI Venezuelan partners and management found time to celebrate the second anniversary in style.  A two day yachting trip to Venezuela’s treasure destination Los Roques with its sensational blue water and unmatched white sand beaches was the perfect site for the party.

Solid Products, Inc. president Gregory Frings was on hand to help with the celebration which included a fresh lobster extravaganza.  “I am extremely proud of our team here.  The quality of the products we continue to produce here is a result of their attention to detail.  Those efforts have resulted in growth we honestly weren’t expecting given the situation.  I am very happy to be where we are in such a short time,” said Frings.

Pro Plaster Products, Solid Products Australian partner, has announced expansion plans for 2013.  Barely more than a year into the manufacturing of drywall finishing compounds PPP needs to increase its production capability. Managing Director Perry Richardson indicated that increasing demand even in a challenging economy will require an increase to their present capacity. “Due to increasing demand and anticipated future growth we feel it is necessary to invest now to meet what we expect to be continuing demand growth” said Richardson . “Our success has exceeded our initial expectations and it
is our intent to continue to be the industry standard and continue to grow market share”.

Richardson made the announcement at the recent meeting of the APBA held September 21st through the 28th in Kona, Hawaii. The expansion will begin in the first quarter of 2013 and is expected to be complete sometime in the third quarter. Richardson indicated that the expansion will result in a near doubling in their capacity at the Capalaba, Queensland facility. He also indicated that they had begun preliminary sight studies on possible future locations.

For the second time in less than a year, Solid Products, Inc.(SPI) has been identified as a partner in a new drywall joint compound manufacturing facility.  Earlier this year it was announced that Pro Plaster Products with the assistance of SPI had begun manufacturing compound in a facility outside Brisbane, Australia. The latest news comes from Venezuela where Industrias SPI Venezuela, C.A. has begun manufacturing compound in Guarenas, Venezuela.

“It is just the normal progression of what we have been doing for years” said Gregory Frings, president of Solid Products, Inc.  “We have shipped thousands of containers all over the globe and we have been a private labeler for some of the world’s largest gypsum wallboard manufacturers.  We have been extremely fortunate to find the right partners that share our vision”.

Luis Sanabria the General Manager for Industrias SPI Venezuela, C.A. is excited about the new venture.  “We are excited to be manufacturing superior quality compounds.  Drywall usage is really in its infancy in Venezuela and we look forward to growing with the market.  It is a great position to be in, making the best compound available in the marketplace.”

SPI Venezuela intends to produce in excess of 10 million gallons annually.  The facility will not only supply material to Venezuela but intends to supply material throughout Latin America.

Pro Plaster Products, a longtime importer, wholesaler and retailer of professional drywall finishing materials, tools and accessories has begun manufacturing drywall finishing compounds in Australia. Perry Richardson, Pro Plasters’ Managing Director says, “This has been a long time coming. We have been importing compounds for over 15 years always with the idea that one day we would manufacture locally. Finally it has come to fruition.”

The facility is located just outside Brisbane. According to Richardson it is the result of an ongoing alliance with Solid Products, Inc. (SPI) of Richfield, WI USA. “We have imported Sudden Bond 4T for many years and 4T has become the industry benchmark, we are happy to now be producing that same quality product here. Our ongoing relationship with SPI will help us to expand our product offering and ensure quality.”
